Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of Roses – Dades Gorges
Start your journey from Marrakech, traveling over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2206 meters) to admire the breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains. Afterward, take a scenic detour to the historic Telouet Kasbah, once the stronghold of the Glaoui family. Enjoy lunch in this picturesque setting before continuing your journey toward Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Proceed through Skoura, the Valley of Roses, and finally reach the Dades Gorges, known for its dramatic rock formations and verdant oasis.
Day 2: Dadès Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, head towards the Todra Gorges, where you’ll witness towering red cliffs, perfect for photography. Pause for lunch at the base of the cliffs before continuing to the Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga. Along the way, pass through Erfoud, renowned for its fossil production. Arriving in Merzouga, check into your desert inn before embarking on a camel trek through the vast sands. Experience a night in a Berber tent, under the stars, with a traditional Berber dinner prepared over an open fire, adding to the magical atmosphere.
Day 3: Merzouga – Nkob – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Return to your inn for breakfast before heading back to Ouarzazate via the historic caravan routes, passing through Alnif and Tazzarine. Journey through the lush Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, and its spectacular palm plantations. Arrive in Ouarzazate by late afternoon.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
On your final day, visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mudbrick architecture and its role in films such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After exploring the kasbah, return to Marrakech in the afternoon to conclude your unforgettable adventure.
