Founded by Hassan El Amrani, a native Berber from the Sahara desert of Morocco, Under Moroccan Sun offers a deeply personal connection to the magic of Morocco. Hassan’s nomadic family settled in the small village of Merzouga, located near the stunning Erg Chebbi sand dunes, to provide their children with access to education. Hassan attended Moulay Ismail University, earning a degree in English Language and Literature.
After working as a tour guide for several prominent Moroccan travel companies, Hassan founded Under Moroccan Sun to share his love for Morocco’s rich culture and natural beauty. As a Certified Travel Associate (CTA), a prestigious certification awarded by The Travel Institute, Hassan possesses the expertise and experience to ensure travelers have unforgettable journeys.
Split between Morocco and the United States, Hassan understands the expectations of international travelers, blending Moroccan passion with global insights. Under Moroccan Sun specializes in creating personalized experiences that immerse travelers in Morocco’s sights, sounds, and hidden gems.

Im Majid, a native nomad of the Sahara Desert, born and raised under the starry desert skies. As a young boy, I began guiding travelers through the dunes, sharing the secrets and beauty of my homeland. Today, with professional certifications and fluent in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Berber, I invite you to discover the wealth and splendor of Morocco.
As your The Lead Program Coordinator, you’ll experience more than the usual tourist attractions. I collaborate with a network of seasoned, knowledgeable, and friendly professionals who share my passion for showcasing the authentic Morocco.

Meet Hamid, Our Head of Transportation
Hailing from a nomadic Berber family, Hamid’s roots run deep in the majestic Sahara Desert. With years of exploration under his belt, he possesses an intimate knowledge of the desert’s vast expanses, hidden oases, and shifting dunes. This innate understanding allows him to navigate the desert’s challenges with ease, ensuring our travelers experience the magic of the Sahara with utmost safety and comfort.
A gifted linguist, Hamid speaks five languages, including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and German, in addition to his native Berber and Moroccan Darija. This remarkable language proficiency enables him to communicate effortlessly with travelers from diverse backgrounds, making every interaction a warm and welcoming experience.
As the mastermind behind our in-house transportation, Hamid is the driving force (pun intended!) behind our exceptional riding experiences. His passion for delivering seamless, safe, and enjoyable journeys is evident in every detail, from meticulously maintained vehicles to expertly planned routes. Hamid takes immense pride in his work, ensuring that every traveler feels valued, supported, and free to soak up the breathtaking beauty of Morocco.

Born and raised in the breathtaking Rose Valley of southeastern Morocco, Ismail possesses a deep understanding of the country’s geography, rich history, and vibrant culture. His roots in this stunning region have given him an intimate knowledge of Morocco’s hidden gems, from majestic mountain ranges to serene desert landscapes.
Ismail joined Under Moroccan Sun in 2018 and has since become an invaluable member of our team. With his extensive experience navigating Morocco’s diverse terrain, he expertly handles every detail of your journey, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.
