Berber Trail Tour
Day 1: Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll be transferred to your Riad, a traditional Moroccan-style residence. Explore the Jemaa el Fna Square, where you’ll be mesmerized by snake charmers, jugglers, and dancers. Marrakech, a vibrant Imperial City, is home to beautiful gardens and historic locales.
Day 2: Telouet to Ouarzazate
Travel to Ouarzazate via Taddart Village, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2206 m (7237 ft). Experience the Berber culture as you pass through breathtaking valleys and mountains. An off-road excursion will take you to the Kasbah of Telouet, once the stronghold of the Glaoui clan. Continue to Ouarzazate, famous for its role in film productions.
Day 3: Skoura, Kelaa Mgouna, Dades Gorges
Visit the palms of Skoura and explore the Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs. Marvel at the Kasbah Amridil and enjoy a scenic drive along the Dades River, where the dramatic mountain landscapes will inspire awe. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 4 - Fes to Erfoud via the Middle Atlas
Drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, known for its Barbary apes. Continue through the Ziz Valley, with its stunning palm groves and Tafilalet oasis, arriving in Erfoud, famous for its dates and fossils.
Day 4: Erfoud to Merzouga
Follow the ancient Bedouin trading routes and visit fortified villages along the way. Erfoud is famous for its fossil-rich marble. Witness a stunning sunset over the Merzouga dunes, where the golden landscape evokes a sense of peace and awe.
Day 5: Merzouga
Visit Nomadic families in the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy African folkloric music and dance performances in Khamlia village and explore the Oases of Merzouga. In the afternoon, experience a camel ride to a Bivouac for an unforgettable night under the stars in the desert
Day 6: Zagora
After breakfast, depart Merzouga for Zagora, a quiet desert town once a starting point for Caravans to Timbuktu. Travel through the Tafilalet palm groves and the town of Rissani.
Day 7: Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Travel through the Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and Berber villages. Stop for lunch at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed Kasbah complex used in numerous films. Continue your journey to Marrakech for an overnight stay at your Riad.
Day 8: Marrakech
Discover the Pearl of the South, visiting key landmarks such as the Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the tranquil Menara Gardens. In the afternoon, explore the souks and end the day with mint tea overlooking the bustling Jemaa El Fna Square.
Day 9: Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy a transfer to the airport for your departure.
