Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of Roses – Dades Gorges
Your journey begins in Marrakech, where you will travel over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, perched at 2206 meters, offering spectacular mountain views. The route will take you past the Kasbah of Telouet, once the residence of the Glaoui family, where you’ll enjoy a scenic lunch. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco,” before passing through Skoura, the Valley of Roses, and the Dades Gorges, famed for its dramatic landscape of cliffs and palm trees.
Day 2: Dadès Gorges – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Dunes
After breakfast, depart for the Todra Gorges, where you can marvel at towering red cliffs. Lunch will be served beneath the 300-meter-high cliffs in a Berber village. Continue to Erfoud, known for its fossilized history, and journey onward to the towering Erg Chebbi Dunes, one of the most awe-inspiring desert landscapes in Morocco. After settling into a desert inn, embark on a camel trek into the heart of the dunes for a magical night under the stars, complete with a traditional Berber dinner cooked over an open fire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Nkob – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Return to your desert inn for breakfast, then head back to Ouarzazate through an alternate route that follows the ancient caravan trade routes. Pass by Alnif and Tazzarin, villages that provide glimpses of traditional desert life, before reaching the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, lined with lush palm plantations. Arrive in Ouarzazate late in the afternoon.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
On your final day, visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mudbrick construction and featured in numerous films like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After exploring the kasbah, return to Marrakech by the afternoon to conclude your unforgettable desert adventure.
